Hey you guys. |3
Well, another lovely year of Christmas has passed. Well, almost. XD It's still the middle of the day! But we do all our celebratory stuff on the 24th (due to scheduling for Christmas Day), and then do the little tail-end giving and receiving on the morn of the 25th like today. :3
Okay, so here's a little blurb of my 2009 Christmas.
On the 23rd, we went to Sherbie for my Grandma's birthday, like last year! We had actually considered going this weekend, either today or tomorrow. But the forecast had called for a lot of snow and freezing rain tomorrow, and plus dad had something to do on Wednesday, but it did get canceled. So, finally, we made the decision to go to the Sherbs on Wednesday for grandma's birthday. We drove up, no problems there.
Ohhhh, the wintery scenery was gorgeous.

Okay people, I am telling you RIGHT NOW, although I could have before, and some of you probably know...you MUST go to the country during the winter. Yes, it's cold. But bundle up. But what I'm saying is, it's absolutely beautiful. Heck, it even makes for a good day trip! Really, you can get a lovely outing during the day by driving up to your nearest rural area. So definitely do that, because it's a lot of fun.

And you can get some lovely photos!

Dad did take a few of the scenery when we stopped at one point. And you know what? I knew this, and yet I realized it, off-weather makes it all the much nicer. Yes, I know we all love a good sunny day, but come on, BO-R-ING! Well, not all the time. I've seen plenty of beautiful photos taken on sunny days. So don't get me wrong. But, cloudy days, misty even, you know, off-weather? That's always nice.
And I just love those gray, cloudy, winter days, whether or not it's snowing.

ANYWAY, back to the pilgrimage!
We went to grandma's favourite restaurant and met most of the family there. It was great to see them! We all had a very lovely time. I even got see two my baby second-cousins!

That was nice.
After dinner we went to grandma's house and had a nice time there too, so in all, it was a great evening!
And one of my aunts, Helen, she gave me a helpful challenge. XD She noticed I wasn't making eye contact, and I confided in her in the fact that I do indeed have trouble making eye contact with people. I'm very shy, as you all know, and somehow, I just feel so weird when I look someone in the eye. Like they're looking into my soul and knowing what I'm thinking! XD Or something. I forget how I originally worded it. But Helen was encouraging me to make eye contact with people because really, all the other person will see is your eyes, and what you do in outward actions. So she challenged me for a month to make eye contact, and let her know how it turned out.
After all, as she said, eye contact means you are giving the person your undivided attention. Well, unless of course you reach for something or you're trying to demonstrate something. XD
My aunt Pat and uncle Yves (pronounced Eve, by the way), the ones who have the house I adore so much, did invite me to come by for a few days between now and January 26th (when I start my next semester at school), and also during the summer. XD YAY!!!!

Not sure when, but sometime soon. So let's hope! And of course I promised my other aunt, Mary-Ellen, whom I had also stayed with when I would visit up there, also asked me to come and visit soon. So I made a point of telling her I would do so when visiting. :3
So whoo-hoo! XD
So, yeah, that's my little adventure!
Yesterday we went to spend time with family on mom's side, as we always do. We had a lovely dinner and a great time all together. ^w^ Sure my cousin's incessant and loud singing was getting annoying after a while, but oh well. XD It was fun!
And now I shall tell you what I got.

First, as a present to myself I bought...a Friday The 13th door poster. Jason Voorhees is in mah room!!!

I love it. Just gotta get it to stay up. I'll take photos later!
-Super Paper Mario
Yaaaaaaaay!!!! I wanted this! >w<
-Season 1 of Corner Gas.
Ah YEAH, baby!
-Socks
I did need and want new socks. XD
-Undies
XD I don't even need to say anything.
-Lindt chocolate, both Lindor and a simple milk chocolate kind.
The most sinfully delicious chocolate EVER.
-A plaid flannel shirt
Yay! I wanted one. >w<
-Two flannel PJ bottoms. One with doggies, another with polar bears. Yay!
-A snowman sweatshirt
-An argyle shirt. XD
What's funny about that is because I love argyle, and on Wednesday night while at grandma's, one of my cousins was wearing an argyle jumper, which was pink and black, I fell in love with it and said to her that I loved it. XD My mom told me this morning after I opened it, that she was inwardly excited when I said to my cousin that I loved argyle. xD Haha! Nice, eh?
-A pair of yoga pants.
I don't do yoga. xD But they're meant for lounging about and casual wear. Yay!

Under The Dome by Stephen King.
His newest book. That was the ONE thing I wanted the most. I love Stephen King, his books are so boss. I'll read anything of his! I was enraptured by the story itself, which is about a small town in Maine that is covered by a large dome, hence trapping it inside. It's a story of what it would be like if that kind of thing happened. It kind of reminds me of one of his short stories (now a movie as well),
The Mist. Ooohh, I can't wait to read it!
Mom did tell me she (well actually my brother bought it) bought it, and gave me the option of either unwrapping it then, or on Christmas. I decided to wait. xD Well beforehand I did make a point of telling her a few times that I wanted that book!
Plus, I just LOVE the hardback book cover. Seriously. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. xD I am a sucker for small towns, especially in Maine. I love his Maine-based books.
Oh, and I saw Stephen when he was on The Hour with George Strombolopolous (I don't know if I spelled it right...I can say it no problem, but spelling it? Don't think so. xD) and he talked about his new book, and how he had actually had an idea to write it back in the late 70's, but it never got finished. So now here it is! It was cool, if you guys ever manage to catch it, I say check it out.
So I'm off to read!
Oh yes, and here's some more. xD
-A calendar of dogs and cats.
It's cute!
-A bag. Yeah, just a bag to carry some things. XD It's cool.
-A nightshirt.
-Money.
I'm not saying how much! Mom even had a fun way of doing that for my brother and I. xD So that's cool!
-A camera.
Yes! I got a camera! I totally didn't expect it, you know. Yes, I did ask for a camera and put it on the list. And dad even knew beforehand that I wanted one of my own, but it wasn't a big priority for me either. But there I was, opened that box and I was stunned! They got me my own camera!!!!! I'm so happy.
It's a Fujifilm, which is as good as Canon and Nikon, that we all like here. 10 megapixels...oh my! It's a smaller version of the camera my dad currently has. It's the same model, just a newer and smaller version. And it's awesome! Dad did his homework and research, looking for a good camera to give me. >w<
Still, I just didn't expect it! XD I wanted one, and I made a point of saying so, but I even told them that if anything was too expensive, to not bother. It didn't matter. But it also did help to say so since we could keep an eye out for something and keep it in mind, you know?
And now I got one. >w< Yay! I got one in time for my next pilgrimage to the country. xD Yay!
I also received some lovely little gifties from a few pals here. >w< Go give them some love!

She drew my OC's Casana and Gaiaka. You know, the evil twin sister whom shall be used in some stories? xD She drew them as Vocaloids! Pretty cool, eh? I love it! And they're getting along, for once!

My friend Donut made this adorable little gem. >w< She made it on MS Paint! I don't know how she does it, but she does such lovely work on there! It's so cute!!!!

Who doesn't want Jason Voorhees tending to an injury you just recently faced, cute little chibis of characters you love/created, and your OTP pairing as the main feature?

When I saw this when I got home on Wednesday night, I was so blown away. It made my day, and I just LOVE it. She took the elements from the gift I gave to her, which was mixing all of her obsessions into one, and did the same with her gift to me. I love it. Simple as that.

gave me a little shout-out in her journal. Thanks, Snowy!

Thank you guys for the lovely gifts!

I truly appreciate them!
Merry Christmas!
And oh, one last thing.
I finished my class on the 16th. I checked my grade, and...
I got 89%. I exceeded the class average, which was 78%. Pretty cool. >w<
